![]() ![]() I have provided the activity and the worksheet for you to try. On it there is a target and students have to graph the point in the centre. I felt this activity accomplished both, and my students really seemed to enjoy it. This is a simple three slide sketch to help students graph points. ![]() Make worksheets to accompany my Desmos Activity Builders, so the students can have notes to look back on.For example, students would match the phrase: If you’re happy and you know it to then clap your hands. Shorten my Desmos Activity Builders, so that I have time in class to practice with the students outside of Desmos. I think that a fun activity to introduce students to conditional statements is to have students play a matching card game where they match the if strand of a famous quote to the then strand. They use this information to practice writing equations of circles that extend a given pattern or match a given set of conditions. (For this activity I used the absolute value, quadratic, square root, and cube root functions.) In this activity, students notice similarities and differences in a set of circles. You can use some that Desmos and other users have created, or make. My students know transformation form with linears, y = a(x – h) + k, but have not moved any other graphs around yet. Probably the coolest feature of Desmos in terms of student learning are the class activities. The included checklist could be modified to include point values if one chooses to ‘grade’ the project. This Marbleslides activity introduces students to transformation form and lets them practice moving graphs around with Marbleslides (SUCCESS!!) using the new parent graphs they just learned. Math 7 students will use tables of connected points in this Desmos FIRST NAME Art Project. I just made my first Marbleslides in Desmos! It was incredibly easy, and the students said it was a really fun way to learn. ![]()
